Team Rwanda has been racing this week’s Cascade Cycling Classic against some of the top teams in the country.  Stage 4 was a blisteringly fast, 4-corner criterium, which is vastly different than most of the racing these young men have done in their careers.  Criterium racing is the US is a specialist’s discipline where positioning, cornering, and acceleration abilities are paramount.  Team Rwanda was up to the challenge and all 5 of the team’s starters rode aggressively, undaunted by the frenetic pace.  While the team did not place on the Stage, they proved once again they have tremendous potential at the highest level of the sport.
